About Cristina

CRISTINA LILIENFELD studied choreography at the National University of Drama and Film UNATC I. L. Caragiale from Bucharest (graduated in 2008) and psychology (graduated in 2007) and she is in a continuous search for the meeting point of these two disciplines. She studied contemporary dance techniques like: Contact Improvisation, Axis Syllabus, Feldenkreis, Flying Low Technique and Real Time Composition and self-development techniques in her training as an experiential psychology therapist.

In November 2014 she’s been invited to present in the Temps D’Images Festival (Cluj Napoca, Romania) the performance called: “Nu toti sunt eroi” ( They’re not all heroes) which was created with Smaranda Gabudeanu (actress/puppeteer) and co-produced by Colectiv A Association. This performance will be presented at the National Dance Centre in Bucharest starting with LIKECNDB Festival in February 2015.

Other projects in 2014 were:  “Luna” which was created with Irinel Anghel (musician) during the artistic interdisciplinary residency “Artis(n)est”(Tescani/Bacau/Zona D Bucuresti) supported by E-motional-Rethinking Dance Programme and presented at the National Dance Center in Bucharest in October 2014.

“In Total Balance” with a concept by visual artist Dilmana Yordanova, also a project supported by E-motional-Rethinking Dance (MAP-Sharing Experiences-Porto) and Arcub presented in Porto, Portugal during the MAP Sharing Experience Programme and at The National Dance Centre Bucharest in October 2014.

In august 2013, Cristina created during the Artist(n)est Recidency Programme (sustained by George Apostu Center, Bacau and Centre Troi C-L din Luxemburg) the performance called “Lay(ers)” winner of The National Choreography Contest organized by Secţia de Coregrafie. This performance was presented several times at CNDB  including in the Romanian Dance Showcase (2014-april). In June she performed Lay(ers) in Seattle, at the International Dance Festival  “Beyond The Threshold” and she continues to develop this project in the present.

She worked with choreographers like: Cosmin Manolescu, Madalina Dan, Mihaela Dancs, Georgiana Dobre and Ana Costea and she attended many workshops with teachers like: Meg Stuart, Phillip Gehmacher, Baris Mihci, Kira Kirsch, Florin Fieroiu, Anna Wehsarg, Lola Keraly, Matt Voorner, Nancy Stark Smith, Benno Voorham, Andrew Haarwood, Andre Lepecky, Gina Serbanescu etc.
