Alienation or The Desire For Intimacy
Alienation or the Desire for Intimacy is a conteporary dance and multi-media performance, an assemblage of different scenes around the three themes of the project: Alienation, Desire and Intimacy. It’s a poetic, visual, moving journey into the underworld of our desires, an intimate journey to what motivates us to be with ourselves and with others.
We start with words. Not just any words, but those that, sparked by the artistic practice, escalate from the most hidden areas of the self. They break out through words and dance, the body has the capacity to reveal through movement what is beyond words. We overlap live images to support or contradict body messages.
The transitions between the two states – alienation and intimacy – are made through desire, or perhaps, by the lack of it. Sometimes the two states and the craving coexist, other times they succeed, sequentially. There is a subjective order by the author, which you will notice during the performance @Unteatru (on 11.07). Everyone can relate differently tothe themes of intimacy, alienation or desire, and can interact at the durational performance @Museum of Recent Art (on 11.05) deconstructing the original order. Finally, it will be the movie (made @Rezidenta BRD Scena9), which gathers the essence of previous representations in concentrated doses of alienation, desire and intimacy (on 11.18).
