Emotional Soundwalk
Emotional Soundwalk is an open-air performance that blends dance and sound, inviting audiences and passersby to see their city and the people around them in a new way. Together with choreographers Pascal Merighi and Thusnelda Mercy, six local artists – Cristina Lilienfeld, Eva Danciu, Ema Alexandrescu, Tamara Găgeatu, Robert Popa, and Cosmin Manolescu – guide the audience on a sound-based journey with dance through the streets of Bucharest. The performance is built upon a specially created sound composition by artist Mikel R. Nieto (Spain) and took place along the following route: Goethe-Institut Bucharest, Calea Dorobanți 32, Ernest Broșteanu Street, Polonă Street, Dacia Boulevard, Ioanid Park, and Icoanei Garden Park. At the end, everyone gathered in the courtyard of Rezidența9, I.L. Caragiale Street no. 32, for a glass of wine and a discussion session.
Emotional Soundwalk is a performance created by AREAL and Tanz Station Barner Bahnhof Wuppertal as part of the choreographic exchange program Wuppertal–Bucharest, a component of the AREAL European Choreographic Program, co-financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN) and carried out with the support of the Bucharest City Hall through ARCUB – the Cultural Center of Bucharest, and Rezidența9. The project does not necessarily represent the position of the National Cultural Fund Administration. AFCN is not responsible for the content of the program or for how the results of the program may be used. These are entirely the responsibility of the beneficiary. Media partner: Zile și Nopți.
